
| RATES AND SERVICES The rates for PFI Rubbish Service vary by service area. These rates are for up to THREE large cans or bags of rubbish (30 to 33 gallon size) per pickup or TWO 45-gallon sized cans. Scroll down for more information on Extra Bags, Extra Pickups, Special Pickups, Cart Rentals, Non-Curbside Surcharges, Vacation Stop and Payments BILLINGS PFI Rubbish bills basic service and cart rentals in advance of each service period. (i.e. Service for the months of October/November is billed in early September, and due in our office by October 1.) Extra bags, extra pickups and special pickups are billed in arrears. (i.e. Extra bags in January will appear on the next bill.) You may choose to be billed Quarterly, Semi-Annually or Yearly, but always in advance. | EXTRA PICKUPS If you have service once a week but need a pickup on the alternate day, an extra pickup charge may be made if there are no missed pickups on your regular day. This charge can be $4.00-$10.00, depending on your area and the number of additional pickups.

| EXTRA BAGS For most customers, they are allowed a maximum if 3 large cans/bags - 90 gallons - of rubbish per service day. That is either three 30-gallon cans or two 45-gallon cans. The drivers record the number of cans/bags collected from each customer. During the course of one calendar month, once a week customers are allowed a maximum of 12-15 bags; twice a week customers are allowed a maximum or 24-27 bags. Anything over the MAXIMUM RATE is billed at a rate of $2.00 per extra bag. Please note that the drivers try to be fair in record keeping. A trash can filled with six small bags of trash does not equal six bags. However, if your can is pilled over the rim with trash, that's extra. If the can is very heavy, that's extra. If the trash in not bagged and the driver has to re-bag your trash, that's extra. If you have three full cans and there's more trash outside the cans, that's extra. In general, a driver will record a FULL can of rubbish as follows:
For customers renting our special carts, a full 64-gallon cart equals 2, and a full 90-gallon cart equals 3. If the can or cart is not full, the driver will usually record it as 1. As long as there is something in the can, the customer will be marked as 1. Example: Mr. Smith has rubbish service every Monday. Last month there were four Mondays and was allowed a maximum of twelve bags [4 pickups X 3 bags]. This is what was picked up: 1st week = 4 bags 2nd week = 3 bags 3rd week = 0 bags 4th week = 7 bags He had a total of fourteen bags. Since he is allowed up to twelve bags he was billed $4.00 for the two extras. If you believe there is an error in the extra bag count, please contact our office at (808) 329-3440. | SPECIAL PICKUPS Our smaller trucks have only a four foot width capacity. Special pickups need to be arranged for over-sized items such as furniture, carpeting, cabinets, televisions, desks, beds, numerous boxes and appliances. No hide-a-beds or construction waste will be accepted. Everything must be in one location, outside your home, where the items can be easily loaded into the truck. Special pickups must be arranged in advance. The rate is $55.00-$100.00 plus $1.00 per minute for loading. Please contact our office for scheduling. NOTE: We only occasionally do special pickups for furniture, appliances and other large items! We will not do special pickups for construction/remodeling waste or regular pickups for large amounts of green waste. Please contact other hauling companies for these services. |
| CART RENTALS Cart rentals are available to our customers. These carts are designed to be picked up by our truck's mechanical arm. Currently we have a 64-gallon cart and a 90-gallon cart. Please call the office for rates 808 329 3440. Note: We have limited availability on the 90-gallon carts. But we recommend that you purchase your own cans, either three 30- to 33-gallon size or two 45-gallon size, but do not get the 50-gallon carts! They do not align with the mechanical cart lifter on our trucks. |
| VACATION STOPS A credit can be made on your account if you don't need service on your regular service day. The amount of credit depends the customer's monthly service rate. Customers must call in advance for vacation credit. If the customer does not need service for a month or longer, the account will be put on hold until the customer calls to resume service. |
| Please don't leave payments in your own mailbox! PFI Rubbish is prohibited from removing anything from your mailbox. And please don't leave your payment with your trash can! It can be easily missed and thrown away. |
| PAYMENTS All checks and money orders should be made out to PFI Rubbish Service. Please write your six-digit account number on your check and include your payment stub. You can mail your check or money order (PFI Rubbish, 74-5599 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740-1615), or drop it off at our office on Pawai Place (if no one is in the office, you may leave your payment in the secure drop box on the door.) You can also hand your payment to your driver when he comes by, but please call first to let us know. For Customers Outside the U.S.: PFI cannot accept checks drawn from a foreign bank. Please use only international money orders in U.S. funds. For Customers with Multiple Accounts: Please make sure to include all account numbers. This is especially important if you are using an online bill payment service. Credit Cards: We also accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. One-time and recurring payments by credit card can be made. To charge by phone, please call our office at (808) 329-3440. Overdue Payments: Any over due payments are subject to a 1.5% late fee. Rubbish service will be suspended for any accounts that are 14 days over due. If no payment has been made in 90 days, service will be cancelled. To restart service after cancellation any unpaid charges must be paid before service begins and your new billings cycle must be prepaid in advance. Returned Checks: Returned checks are subject to a $15.00 fee. |

| MONTHLY RATES Effective 06/01/2008 State of Hawaii Excise Tax is 4.166% Please note that on your bill under BASIC SERVICE, the amount printed is the monthly rate X the billing period. For example, a customer in Captain Cook with twice a week service paying quarterly will be billed $121.87. That fee is for three months of service, not one month. |
